MIKE SVOB, BA, SFCA is a Master landscape painter and the author of the popular book called "Paint Red Hot Landscapes that Sell" which showcases his colorful, dynamic work. He is a signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and has been a full-time artist since 1982. This 25-year career has allowed Mike to master all mediums. He brings his years of experience to his workshops and strongly believes that sharing his knowledge among fellow artists and students provides only positive results for all. He shares his secrets, his philosphy of art, and his experience of sales, along with his wonderful humour. DYNAMIC COLOUR in OIL/ACRYLIC will provide the basic knowledge required to give us the confidence to proceed in either medium. Mike uses basically the same process to paint in either the luscious medium of oil or the versatile medium of acrylic. This workshop is for all artists with some painting experience in any medium. Mike will share his extensive knowledge and practical applications on composition and design. He is very knowlegable about products and He will suggest a different approach to applying paint each day and share his extensive knowledge about products.In his paintings, Mike uses a very distinctive use of colour which draws the viewer into his work, and he will share all of his secrets about colour and products in this workshop. Demos, individual counselling and critiques will be included to help students to develop our own ideas into paintings. Mike is an excellent teacher and he has teaches regularly in Calgary for Leading Edge and for the Federation of Canadian Artists in Vancouver.
Please bring your own reference material of photos and/or sketches. Mike will demo from and share his large collection of photos. He may do demos of landscape, floral, portrait/figure, and/or still life.
In Calgary this workshop will be held at the Ramsay Community Centre, 1136 - 8 Street SE.
