Born in Vancouver, Ruby taught school in Vancouver and Victoria, specializing in art in the elementary grades. After
moving to Winnipeg in 1971, she found herself in a new career in the travel industry. Upon her retirement in 1993, she
finally realized her dream of painting full time. She has studied with many leading artists, including taking workshops in

Niagara on the Lake, Calgary and Vancouver. She is the representative for Leading Edge Art Workshops in Winnipeg.
Ruby enjoys working in acrylics and the challenge of watercolor and inks in her studio in Winnipeg. Her paintings are
inspired by her travels, and reflect her love of color and for the gradeur of the prairies, the majesty of the Rockies, and
landscapes from right around home and around the world. A member of Manitoba Society of Artists since 2002, her work,
which has
been shown extensively in group and solo shows, can be found in both private and corporate collections in Canada, the UK,
